WILWSoccer Camp Edition: Loving the life I'm Living

Hey guys! Happy Hump Day! Time to link up with Jamie over at This Kind of Love and share what you're loving about your life today!!

note* this edition of WILW has no pictures as I haven't the cord for my camera nor the free time to upload & edit any amidst the continuous stream of children coming to my room for bumps & bruises. Pictures will come soon!

I am LOVING/ADORING/SOOOO THANKFUL for an extra hour of time back in the dorms today before the games tonight. Thank God for the threat of lightening that made us have to call today's midday practice--between the sweat, sunscreen, grass covering my entire body & all my girls feeling super sore & achy from three-a-days I was in desperate need of a few extra minutes to just chill in my dorm room. (This is the only time I've ever been happy to be in a dorm room. I just did a little lightening dance. No joke. Not a rain dance, a lightening dance. Ha!)

I'm loving that I have met some amazing kids this week & gotten the chance to work this soccer camp. Though myself & Olivia (the other AT student working) have come back to the dorms exhausted every night, we are having such a great time getting to work with these kids!

I'm loving that tomorrow I will see my family for the first time since Sunday--I know, I'm such a homebody! I miss them. They're awesome. If you knew them, you'd miss them too.

I'm loving that my super awesome and most favorite little brother, Dalton!, is officially licensed to roam the state of GA in his big ole truck! So proud of him for being such a good driver & for being such a wonderful person!

I'm loving that I get to see my AHHHH-MAZING girlfriends soon! We need a catch up/workout/dish/veg out session like crazy! (Abby, Caroline, & Erin--get excited!)

I'm loving that at the HP premiere last weekend, half the theatre sang Happy Birthday to my sister at midnight! She is the best! I love her so so much & can't wait to have her at UGA this fall!

I keep mistyping loving today. I just hit the i key instead of the o. & I thought, silly that's I'm living, not I'm loving. You know what though? I am loving the life I'm living. Every single day Jesus blesses me to continue this awesome journey that is my life & I'm so thankful for that and for all the people in it. So, thanks for being in it. You are awesome & I love you! :)

Band-Aids, Tape & Ice: Living the Life

For the next week & a half (minus Friday, which I have off!) I'll be living in O-House dorm along with 250 soccer players here for UGA Girls Soccer Camp.

It's the first full day of camp & I'm exhausted, but being on my own with 6 teams of girls is definitely teaching me how to fly solo! I was nervous at first; for the last year I've always been with my ATC for practices & games, so if anything came up they were in charge & I was watching to learn & trying to help. Now, it's me, the coaches & the athletes, so if anything goes down, I'm the person they turn to. Granted, because I'm not a certified yet I can only act as a first responder and provide emergency or first-aid care. BUT! I'm learning how to multi-task like nobody's business! Scan sky for lightening. Keep coolers full. Watch 75 athletes on 3 different fields. Make sure no stray balls are going to cause trips & falls. Keep kids in the shade on breaks. Make sure they're drinking. Band-aids on blisters. Ice on sore muscles. Three sessions a day. For 4 days straight.

Off to the afternoon session now!

I love my job. :)

today is the day.

not just a day. the day. (note: not THE day--THE day is several years of dating, a proposal, one great ballgown dress & the man of my dreams away.)

:)

Today is the day I will begin writing my book. Authoring a book was added to my bucket list sometime back in high school. (Am I old enough to say 'back in high school'? I'm not sure.) I took Creative Writing as an elective in ninth grade & haven't stopped writing since then. My teacher for that class, Mrs. Holley, inspired my classmates & I to write about anything in particular each day for a timed activity. I learned to let words flow onto paper, to keep my brain from getting in the way of what my heart had to say, to sew ideas together like quilting squares. And yesterday I found the theme for my quilt.

I have pin-balled between ideas for years trying to decide what I want to write. I journal, I write down my dreams, I note ideas on post-its and in the margins of my notes in class....but none of them ever inspired me enough to develop them further.

Until yesterday that is! Over the last few days (well, weeks & months really) I have had so many conversations seeking or giving advice. Growing up my Daddy often reminded me that everyone makes mistakes, but that if we learn from the mistakes of others we can avoiding making the same ones ourselves. And that my friends is why I'm going to write a book! I have learned a lot in my twenty-two years of existence! Why should I keep all this to myself!

So! Today I will begin writing down ideas for all the lessons I've learned to share with other people. Today I will begin my book. I'm excited!

Any advice for me, our fellow bloggers or the book?? I'd love to hear it!

Ya'll come back now!
Love,
Nene

WILW!

This Wednesday I'm loving a lot of little things! Life is in the details, right? :)
Link up with Jamie to share what you're loving today too!

I'm loving that I have found 2, TWO!, amazing graduate school Athletic Training Fellowships that I will be applying to in the fall! Both offer high school positions & the option to choose ANY master's degree I want! [Which means an Education degree for me!] & both are within driving distance of home so I won't miss too much of my brother's senior year & my sister's early college years! Ahhhh! & I'm still exploring options & I am so excited about my future!!

May 2012!!

I'm loving my new internet addiction: PINTEREST! I have the other half to my soul, Miss Erin Van Nus, to thank for it! Here's a link to my Pinterest profile so you can check out my boards & all the nifty things I've discovered from pinning! (All the pictures below are pinned from Pinterest!)

I'm loving that I will be going to a wedding reception with a good friend of mine this weekend! I love weddings!

I'm loving that in 8 days [8 DAYS!!!] I will be off to see the Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2 premier with my brother & sister! I.CAN.NOT.WAIT!!!
& I'm loving that after Friday, I will have taken the GRE, & hopefully be done with that step toward graduate school.

Hope you have a wonderful week!
Love,
Nene
